Yes, T25 says you get a day (or 2) off from workouts... what did I do on my "day off"? I got up an hour earlier than I normally do so I could go out for a morning run before anyone was awake and before the sun was even up. Why did I do that? Well, it's summer, and it gets hot during the day. Besides, trying to get out for a run with the two kids awake is almost impossible so I choose to sacrifice sleep for self confidence.
What do I mean by "self confidence"? I mean that exercise will help me lose the weight and look better, and the extra time in the morning will give me more time to primp without being bothered by anyone.
What happened at the end of the day? Did I make it without turning into bitch mom? I couldn't make promises, but I did crash and burn. It was Sunday, and I thought that maybe I could take a nap when Leighton napped, but I HATE naps because I feel like I should be doing something more productive than napping. However, when I need a nap and forego said nap to get things done, I usually regret it at the end of the day when I'm usually exhausted.
Would I love to run every morning at 5:00 AM? Yes, I would. Will I? No. My knees can't handle running... that's why we have an elliptical now instead of a treadmill. I'm sure the unusually rainy summer would prohibit running every day anyway. That's one of the things I hate about outdoor exercise - depending on the weather... that and being seen sweating in public and being seen without makeup and being seen in tennis shoes (I feel like my size 8 feet are too large for my 5'-4" height and that tennis shoes or flats accentuate the length of my feet making me appear like a large "L")!
I know I'm probably the exception in choosing exercise and self confidence over sleep, but I'm a morning person, and I like to exercise first thing in the morning. If I can't exercise, I feel icky all day, and if I can't do it first thing, I get antsy until I can do it. All I want out of my mornings is exercise, a shower, a face, and acceptable-looking hair. When those things have been achieved, I feel like I can do whatever else the day has in store for me! Bring on the poopy diapers!
