When your fingers are too fat to squeeze your wedding rings into, when your thighs start touching and looking like too much sausage stuffed into not enough casing, when your feet don't fit into any shoe that would be deemed "cute", you know you're in the awful third trimester.
Now, I hate being pregnant as much as the next woman who hates being pregnant (I know, I know, there are some of you that like it, and I'll never understand why). Feeling like an unattractive, uncomfortable, waddling, beach ball that's tired, irritable, and out of breath is just plain awful.
Friends with more than one child keep warning me that even though it's hard when they're on the inside, they're much harder when they're on the outside, but at least when they're detached from your person, and you can get away from them if need be. You can't just take a break from being pregnant.
I do realize that when all of a sudden there are two children in my house rather than just one, my life will get infinitely more challenging... believe me... I'm not looking forward to the first several months (okay, it's more like the first 20 months I'm not looking forward to).
How do so many of us seem to forget the woes of pregnancy and the first 6 months with a new baby so much so that we decide to ride the roller coaster of madness another time? Some people take a spin on the crazy mobile several more times.... but for me, this is IT!
I know that no one will ever believe me after saying for so many years that I didn't want kids... then having one... then saying I was only going to have one... and then changing my mind... but this is it. I'm done. After #2 frees himself from my tortured body, this haggard Humpty Dumpty is getting put back together, and she's not falling off of that wall ever again!
