The fragrance of bacon in my house can attract every being with a Y chromosome in seconds. I'm not sure what it is about that smell, but it must be in their DNA to be drawn to it.
Because of the love for this salty treat in my house, I finally decided to try the more efficient way of cooking it: in the oven. I was really skeptical that it could taste like it does when prepared in a pan on the stove top, but I was willing to forego the mess and the time (and the setting off of the smoke detector) to try it.
Yes, it does look like bacon that you would find at a restaurant buffet, but it was still good and still crispy... not stove top crispy, but I am willing to give up that extra crispiness for the convenience of oven bacon. Honestly, I don't think I'll go back to pan frying bacon... ever.
