There is nothing more exciting than hearing a good fish story, and this morning as I was working out on the elliptical, I heard one on the show "River Monsters - Canadian Horror": Host Jeremy Wade was talking about a six-foot Muskie, and that was all I could think of after watching that episode. Fishing... oh, how I miss you! As I sit here at my desk, I find myself daydreaming about the vacation we'll take in June up to the in-laws' cabin for a week of fishing... is it here yet?!
I haven't had a chance to break in my new St. Croix rod yet on a line-breaking fish so hopefully this season, I'll be able to christen it properly. My problem will be holding back my excitement so that I can give the fish ample time to wear out before reeling too fast and breaking the line with too much tension... hmm... maybe I should practice with a virtual game in the interim?
The sizable musky, the "fish of 10,000 casts", has eluded me thus far... oh, how I wish I had the time to make 10,000 musky-specific casts! Regardless, until my time for fishing arrives, I'll just have to watch shows about fishing, dream about fishing, and hopefully this season I'll be able to have a fish worthy of a large photo on my office wall!
